Plight of the Bumble Bee - Short Film Documentary
Plight of the Bumble Bee is a compelling short film that dives into the world of bees, exploring their deep ties to Irish religion, folklore, and biodiversity. It highlights their vital role in ecosystems, the challenges they face, and how we can help secure their survival.
With moments of sadness, humour, and hope, the film weaves a powerful narrative on the urgent need to protect biodiversity globally. Featuring heartfelt interviews, such as with Kilkenny native 81-year-old Peter Walsh, who’s been counting bees since 1959, and showcasing a 5km biodiversity corridor created by locals in Skerries, it debunks myths and inspires action.
Set to a unique live soundtrack of traditional Irish music, this is a story about nature, community, and resilience—and about all of us.

Documentary Film Viewing - “It’s Criminal”
Please join us to view the documentary "It's Criminal," a film that highlights the economic and social inequities that divide the United States and offers a vision of how separated communities can learn to speak to each other. Poignant and personal, the 80-minute feature documentary shares the life-changing journeys of incarcerated women and Dartmouth College students working together to write and perform an original play that explores the often painful and troubled paths that landed the women behind bars and also shares some of their fragile visions for the future.
We are thrilled to have Pati Hernandez join us for discussion after the viewing. Pati Hernández is a mother, grandmother, an activist, dancer, puppeteer and educator. Originally from Chile, she immigrated to North America in 1983. Her professional focus is the exploration of political and social issues through the arts. She is the creator and facilitator of Telling My Story, a program she developed in jails, prisons, substance use rehab centers, and systemic and socially excluded community members in Vermont, New Hampshire, and beyond since 1999.
Donations will benefit the Wiley Davi legacy fund. For Information call: Mary Collari at 978-578-7665
